And below is comments I gave at Shelby County Board meeting on March 11th regarding the idea of "Licensing" public property for farming. This is a summary of facts I've put together through hours and hours of research into what is allowable under state law. Shortly after presenting all of these facts that licensing farm ground for private use is against state law, a majority of the board voted to do it anyway.....
And my comments regarding a county paying property taxes FOR a private farming operation using their land. Also explaining a double taxation problem in doing so.
